Yup, Car and Driver's Lightning Lap is evidence of that. At least folks are getting great results with a tune, which removes that silly overboost function.

Car & Driver screwed up their test. They broke the key to the ST on the first day and didn't get fast laps in. (Or did you not actually read the article, lol)

Yeah they're idiots, that's not the first time they've done that fob on roof thing... Even though they only got one day of lapping, I don't think the times would have improved to say Mazdaspeed3 times, which was 5 seconds faster. But other than the diff and overboost, they had only good things to say about the ST. Most neutral handling FWD car, so much so that they could drive it like a RWD car. And they kept using that word that I keep hearing in ST reviews: fun.

Thats what I have been saying from the start= The st needs a diff. Honda puts a diff in their si civic, why not the st w/ more grunt?

As such an idiot myself, I'd certainly like to order an ST3 without a pushbutton start. Just give me a key- call me old fashioned, but I think it is simply too easy for someone with an RFID reader and mimic to just hop in and drive off. It has already been proven that these cars are much easier to steal than their keyed counterparts.

I think you are assuming people that steal cars are generally smart, which is not the case. there are some smart ones, but most people who steal are complete idiots and have never even heard of RFID. For those people, this cars tech seems magical and mysterious lol. joe blow who busts in your window to take your car will get absolutely nowhere haha

On my older cars I always installed a hidden fuel pump switch so no matter how much technology a "smart" thief might have there was no way he was taking it without any fuel.
