So, this ticking noise started tonight (videos)

Granted they are not mine, but of ones off of You Tube that sound exactly like what I am hearing to the tee.

I'd like to believe it's the tappets, but need a more knowledgeable opinion on these Fords.

When I pooped the hood and held my head over 1 and 3 it sounded more distinct. In addition I can hear this in my cab at a decent volume, but obviously duller. Of note - 50 miles ago I used Seafoam in the vacuum line, and that was a bit less then half a bottle. (The other 50% or so went to the gas.)

Any ideas to help a brother out w/ a solution?

Welcome to the forum

I moved your thread to the Technical Chat area so others can hear your problem. I can't watch the video's due to my work internet, but I'm sure someone will chime in with some help. These motors use a cam on bucket design and are in general a tad noisy. I can't hear the vidz so I can't tell you if that's way louder than what it should or shouldn't be, but like I said someone else will

Well, thank you for moving it to the right area! Yeah, that's what I've been reading and hearing as well about the engines. Part of me is even wondering if there's nothing wrong at all and that Seafoam just did it's job. The Focus is new to me, so I'm almost clueless.

No problem, most likely it's normal but without being able to hear it I can't be for sure. Did you add any Seafoam to the oil or just through the vacuum tube?

You can use a stethoscope, long screwdriver, or such to figure out where the tapping is coming from.

Using a long screwdriver touched to the base of the fuel injectors gives me a steady audible tone w/ the far left fuel injector being louder and more audible in my ear, yet still as defined.
