Car & Driver reported the C size sedan back in its September 2011 issue...........It is targeting the entry-luxury buyer with $35,000 to $55,000 to spend, and it will be offering a compact sedan and a small crossover for the first time. New Lincolns will get large helpings of Ford technology, such as eight-speed transmissions, computer-controlled dampers, EcoBoost engines, and MyLincoln Touch electronics.

It appears that the CUV program happened, but the former Mercury based Focus was scrapped some time ago, with the death of this brand, and it has yet to be turned into a Lincoln, at least as far as it had been announced.

So unless its secretly been revived as a Lincoln I'm not as sure about the validity of their sourcing on the Lincolnized Focus sedan at the moment.

The original MK-C concept was basically a Volvo C-30 with the 1.6 L ecoboost and a dry dual clutch powershift transmission at least on paper. It was a clay and wood framed glider/ model at thhe time

I tend to agree that this mule is testing upgrades for the Focus. I read that the C346 (2) update is schedule for SOP 1st quarter 2017, so it seems a tad early to see mules this far out. But who knows maybe Ford will surprise with an early facelift or at least new powertrain options.
Hood lines under the camo does resemble the new Fiesta and Fusion front hoods.

Surprised that the Lincoln C489 being shown at NAIAS is a concept, as SOP was scheduled for 4th quarter 2013. The concept must be quite close to what the
production model will look like.
