yep, even edmunds shows the little turbo 1.4 beat the titanium with a 16.1 compared to a 16.4 on the strip. they also said the handling was superb due to the wider wheelbase and suspension design.
I like how everyone compares the darts 3170lbs weight to a base focus weight. the base dart comes with alot more standard than the base focus does.
but to each his own...

Car and driver ran a 15.8 in the focus. Both are close enough to be a drivers race.

Even the press release says GT. Dodge changed the name.
Well well I guess that explains why it has kept getting delayed.

here is the comparison

http://www.dodge.com/en/compare/dart/

the other thing they are not saying is for another $700 you can add A/C to the base Dart, comes standard on the base Focus.

At a more basic trimline than the GT/Ti debate here, I would far prefer my Focus SE to a comparable Dart. I wanted something small and spirited, and well-equipped at a reasonable price. An SE Focus still comes very well equipped. I want for nothing in my car, besides a sub. To my eyes, a base Dart looks frumpy and big compared to my Focus. I just wouldn't feel as good driving one. And, according to the Dodge.ca build/price tool, I pay less per month for my Focus SE that I bought in October than a completely base (besides the $450 addition of bluetooth to approximate Sync) Dart SE. 0% financing is a wonderful thing.

Once options and engines start being thrown into the mix, my price range is quickly surpassed, so it's all a moot point. Car and Driver compared a Focus SE equipped identically to mine, besides the addition of rims, to a Dart with the 1.6l turbo, and the Focus came out on top. It was faster too, if my memory serves me. The Focus is a great package regardless of how it is equipped.

Really...frumpy? I guess it's in the eye of the beholder, but in this beholders eye the Dart is 100x better looking.

I was meaning more like a really basic one. My Focus only has hubcaps. I find a basic Dart, without rims or foglights or anything, pretty frumpy. Looks like a pure rental car. They look pretty slick when they're done up with some options, though, no denying that. And SO MUCH BETTER than the Neon/SX2.0 it succeeds. I think the Focus is better looking than its most popular competitors, like Corollas and Civics.

Whoops, I broke my quote trying to take out those photos. You get the point, though. And as you say, it's in the eye of the beholder. I'm all about sharp lines and crisp shapes.

Fair enough.

I think the 2k12 Focus Sedan is one of the ugliest cars on the road right now.
FDAU in the worst way.

Idk. I'd rock a hatch if I had a family, maybe. They're not bad with those optional black wheels.

Agreed as far as the sedan goes though. Though it's not as bad as the Fiesta sedan...
