Welcome to the forum!!

I am not sure I understand what your saying, you may need to be more clear and divide up your sentence structure better. This will help people answer your question rather then spending the time trying to understand what you asked.

So you have a 2012 Focus. Your saying some one pulled the valve cover off and adjusted your timing? and you want to put the timing back to stock?

I am not familiar with the 2012's and their function but unless a lot changed you cant manually adjust the timing. a Chilton or Haynes manual will be of a good asset and will give you torque ratings and the order to tighten it down.

Electronically controlled engine, you CANNOT adjust the timing AT ALL. Car retimes itself every time it starts up.

What?? Are you saying that the timing cover is off and that is the reason it's out of time? Have you tried goggling it?

That may be one of the ones with no keyway, the pulley can be put anywhere.........someone will have to reset it back up.

You'll want a service manual.

In a nutshell, you'll be doing 90% the job as a timing belt replacement on a car with a timing chain. You gotta get the tools to locate TDC, the tool to hold the cams in time, and new friction washers for the crank mounted sprocket and pulley.
