Here I was thinking that I could get it fixed if it got bad enough as to be undeniable. I guess that's not going to happen, LOL.

Not a snowballs chance in heck. My dealer told me they have ordered a "whole list" of parts, including struts (second replacement) and strut plates (fourth replacement). Not sure what all else as the service mgr was kinda busy and at this point I simply don't give a crap. Of course they've had my car since January 3rd and they haven't even looked for the coolant leak yet. Nor have they begun to look in to my hellish dash rattle.
So no, for the love of all that is holy, do NOT get your hopes up.

It is a little more involved of a story, but no, they won't fix mine. Essentially, my service rep told me that because the clunk was documented that he would do the work to fix it and that he was ok with me lowering my car in the mean-time. About a month later when I had time to bring it back in (seventh or eighth time), I found out that he had quit and there was a new service rep who obviously wouldn't warranty it with the lowering springs. So I just canceled my service contract.

I don't see it as malicious; I see it as bad luck/timing. Once there is a permanent fix I have no problem with doing the work myself, I'm just frustrated that I bought a new car to avoid having to do that type of work on it.

I have a solution: just live somewhere that is below freezing 100% of the time. My clunk has been noticeably better when it is cold out.
Other than that...my hope is nearly gone for a true fix.

Darn the luck! Mine got worse when it got cold out! It has even picked up a new, and quite lovely I might add, "old bed" creak when I drive over speed bumps/humps and through dips. It's been a great addition to the existing clunks and rattles!

I have to say that mine is noticeably quieter since it's gotten cold. I've been thinking that when it gets warmer I would like to try spraying some expanding foam up in that gap that Zillon posted a pic of.
