not necessarily, I have gotten as good if not better mileage out of my SE Sport packaged. 5 speed, than the SFE is rated at or people have gotten out of it, and mine looks better (well dirty from snow and salt atm) than the SFE

Well, I made the purchase this morning and put 250 miles so far. Everything looks good; Very comfortable, nice interior quality... I've decided not to worry about the wheels... I've averaged 37.2 on HWY. Before I took the delivery, dealer told me MPG will improve as the time goes on...is that right?

Mine increased as I learned to drive it more efficiently. Even my worst mpgs now are 5 more than when I first had it.

Yeah, I had a rental ford focus SE (25k) this morning, I've averaged 40.5 MPG on the same road...

Agree, your most significant gains will come from your driving habits. Natural gains due to break in may be 2-3 mpg at most.
