400 miles per tank club?

Just got home from a 600 mile each way trip and saw what felt like a pretty interesting feat in my car anyway. 407 miles on one tank averaging 65-70 mph the whole tank and clocking 35.0 mpg on the dash, Fuelly.com calced 34.6.

Only 3k on the clock on the original oil. Ill be changing it for Mobil1 this weekend. Gotta say, I'm pretty pleased!!

Any of the 6 speed versions break 450-500 on one tank??

470.1 miles/11.176 gallons with a car load of people and over night bags at 65 mph avg on the freeway, but including starts and stops in town and to and from the hotel on that trip.

That was 42.1 mpg give or take. 6 speed DCT almost all highway.

I can definitely tell the 5 speed could use another OD to bring the revs down a bit. I enjoy the close ratio gearing but Pushing nearly 3k at 70mph is approaching Honda lunacy.

Dayumn 400 miles is pretty good. Not only do I drive too hard to achieve that, but I also run e85 so I wont be joining that club anytime soon haha.

Why on earth would you run E85 on purpose? E85 gets close to 30+ % poorer fuel economy as it has roughly 33% less energy.

I don't even get 400km to a tank let alone miles... My car gets 370km to a tank, then again, I drive it hard and it is a 4 speed auto soooooo...

The car feels like it runs smoother and pulls harder with E. I am well aware of the difference in energy between gasoline and E, I wanted to try E for a while simply because the car is flex fuel capable and I want to log the differences between the two on my car.

The advantage of running ethanol is not very good, it theoretically has a higher octane rating than standard pump gasoline in a pure form, and when blended in is more like mid grade or premium in terms of anti knock index, however it costs a lot more per mile to run and doesn't travel as far as 87 octane, and 91-93 octane fuel probably runs just as smoothly without the loss in fuel economy.

I wanted the flex fuel compatibility in case they push through the E15 or higher as mandatory like the EPA was pushing for, as well as to be able to run on any E blended fuel if necessary, but the owners guide does warn against constantly switching back and forth between fuels.

Of course the choice is up to you as to believe that it would cause harm or not, but the ethanol is corrosive and can knock crud loose in the fuel system. On a new car that's not as much of a concern yet.

Yeah. I see your point. I didn't buy the car for its mileage, that's just a bonus. And, as soon as a freaking tune comes out and I can start adding some real mods, the car will probably see E exclusively. Until then it's probably gonna get a small shot of nitrous so any anti knock properties will help.
