This is literially a couple minutes down the road from me. I drove home the other night and they have huge flood lights lighting up all the cars. Supposedly its being watched by federal agents too.

I think they should crush all those cars like they did for the cash for clunkers cars (which was a horrible program by the way). That way none of those cars could possible be put back into circulation.

Those cars all have SALVAGE titles now that the insurance companies have paid off damage claims.

The parts are still good, and should have their value recovered by parting them out.

Don't be an idiot masquerading as a victim and buy a salvage vehicle, even if the seller claims it was because of a "minor fender bender".

So you want the government to pay the current owners of the vehicles, or should they be forced to lose their investment?

Should this be done only for big floods, or anytime insurance totals out a vehicle?

What other personal property rights do you favor eliminating?

Insurance totalled the vehicles, the govt has nothing to do with them. quit with the dramatics.
alot of these cars were damaged by salt water (i.e. flooded), the fly by nites buying them aren't going to properly clean them. fix and flip to make a buck.
You can have all the pos's you want, first thing that pops up is always electrical problems. small wires and salt water= big problems a short while after. They also have a way with scrubbing titles clean.
happens every damn hurricane or storm on the coast and the shysters end up screwing unsuspecting people in the central part of the states and elsewhere.
crush the flood damaged pos cars and have it done with. Our insurance already paid them off, turn them into little metal shards, plain and simple, before insurance pays them off twice, if you could even get it insured.

Unless some less scrupulous people sell the cars the titles will be stamped as flood damaged so it's a buyer beware situation.
