Help!!! Some one !
Okay, i live in Cincinnati ohio i was driving up 75 to Dayton last night and i was in 6th gear at about 70mph at about 3k rpm.. okay well i was just minding my own buisness and then all of a sudden the rpms shot up and the speedometer did to and the car like started to bog and cut out alittle and then i down shifted to 5th and stayed there for a sceond and then i went back to 6th and everything was okay and then it did it the rest of the way to dayton off and on multipul times. and sometimes it would even do it in 5th and 4th and id have to go as low as 3rd gear and then go to 4th then 5th then 6th. i have no idea what this could be? i still have a good clutch so i dont think it is that. Ecm maybe? im really lost, if anyone has any suggestions or have had this problem before please help

Holy run on sentence batman.
I rad that three times, here is what I think you said: RPM's climbed unexpectedly while cruising steady throttle in 6th gear, and engine ran crappy. This happened again a few more times, in several gears. You downshift when this happens, and it seems to go away after a moment? |

hahah yeah my bad im kinda freaking out about it, so i apologize. but yeah that is the jist of what was/going on.. but once i would down shift then shift back to 6th it would go away for a little bit then it would come back.

Could be, that would explain the RPM increase and poor running while that happens.
But it would need to be a large, intermittent vacuum leak. |

Would that also cause the speedo to jump like that as well?

Just for clarrification the tach and spedo jumped - Did the car accelerate when this occurred? or did it just begin to run like crap? I have seen this in a 1998 honda where the main relay was going bad and intermitantly killing power to the PCM. I'd check for a loose connector at the PCM and then start checking grounds

No, it would not.
I missed that very important detail about the speedo. (why it is important to clearly describe the problem) I would lean towards in intermittent open circuit, loose wire, bad ground, loose relay, that kind of thing. |
