Hi does anyone have the update files for Sync that they can put on Dropbox. Here in Australia Sync does not know USB2. I have installed the cable and it charges and powers anything that's connected to it but that's it. Sync does not know what usb2 is.

Hey, sorry it doesn't work. I searched online and a found on a ford Australia SYNC forum if advised to check your SYNC user guide in the glovebox for a full list of voice commands.

Does anyone know if the USB2 has power to charge an iPhone. I bought a KudaUSA mount to hold my phone, I just want it to charge via the USB 2 and access sync via bluetooth. I have an iPod Nano I am using for my music plugged into USB 1. This is working out well for me.

I bought a charge only wire with no data to connect to the USB 2. When I get all of the parts and test it out I will post here how it works.

Also, it looks like the USB 2 has a capture device. Does anyone have a part number for the actual cable from ford?

Im a bit lost. I have a 12 Ti with Nav and Sync and MFT. I have 2 USB in the center console, they both work and charge phones. What is the benefit of having access to another USB besides the extra port? Also when you say USB2 are you saying a secondary USB or the normal USB ports are 1.1 Versions and the one discovered under the dash is USB 2.0?

I did some looking in my car and couldn't find an extra USB port. I believe all the available ports on the Ti are out in the open. I think in the other models there is only one in the console, but if you access the one behind the dash then it shows up as USB2 in the stereo.

These folks just want an extra port, either for their phone or for an additional audio source. I wanted to use it to charge my phone, but in the end I used the rear power outlet and ran cables tucked under the passenger side of the console up to the front where I mount my phone. That worked out well for me and it avoids having any cables coming out of the console.

KeithLM is correct! Vehicles equipped with MyFord Touch have two USB ports.

The USB2 found in other vehicles is intended for dealership use, but owners have been using it to leave a thumb-drive loaded with music in their car at all times.

I did get the right one from eBay and installed mine and it works great!

Having trouble finding where to put the connector.

I pulled the plate off and now I see everything except where to place the connector. Any high res pictures?
