That plug has to get its power from somewhere so just tap into the wire that runs to that plug

The Ford Ambient Lighting harness is under the center console just in front of the cup holders and to the left of the shifter.

Chances are if your car didn't come with them, you won't be able to install the OEM kit.




This is the location of the harness where the LEDs get power.

Mine is attached directly to the bottom of the cup holder. Right under that is the airbag control unit also.

I dont know if anyones mentioned it but it's called "my color" its a very very rare option.

"MyColor" is on the Mustangs only.

The interior lighting option is named simply "Ambient Lighting" and is not rare by any stretch of the imagination... It might be less common on our style of Focus since the 2nd Gen Focus had it first but some newer cars have it standard depending on which package you buy.
