I actually did have a cf hood fly up on me at speed on my old SpecV. I was only going about 45 - 50, and it scared the living hell out of me. The only damage was to the corners of the hood, and of course where the latch used to be. So, IMO, with a stock hood they are redundant and useless. With a cf or fg hood, I would definitely recommend them. As for how they look? To me, they never look good, but that's the price you pay to play.

Cause its recommended to use both, the hood was thin and it needed all the support you could give it.

Granted you could run how you want but with the warning recommendation on the under side of the hood to use both the latch and the pins. If you don't and something happens and it breaks. It'll be on you and not the supplier.

These hoods, being lighter, may tend to flex more then the OE hood. The pins at the front corners will help cure that. For a stock hood, overkill. For FG/CF, necessity.

I think they can look rather good. Regardless of form though, with certain hoods they are there for function.

These are the best form of fastening panels to a car. They are cheap, strong, paintable and flush.

Paintable? That would flake off SOOOOOO fast it'd make your head spin, even if you used a plastic or rubberized tool to open the dzus fastner. The instant the torque from the slotted tool hit, BAM, peeling paint.
