well assuming heat works and with you have signals all ready then all you need to buy is the mirror assembly that's signal/heat/puddle. Your mirror cover off your current mirror will work. List is on the mirrors is $245ish, but i'm trying to get my manager to work on those prices if there is enough guys interested in buying them.

Do you know the list price on the body color painted cover to fit the signal cutout, for those of us with just the base mirror? I wouldn't trust my ability to cleanly cut the notches myself :)

I don't remember right off on the covers but I wanna say they were 20-30 and they come primed so you'd still have to have it painted. I can double check Wednesday when I go back in.

Thanks for the leg work SCM. Keeping my fingers crossed that the heated mirror circuit works along with the puddle lamps. How hard is it to remove the painted cap from these mirrors?

I haven't tried on the focus, but on other models they can be easy or hard. There are little clips on the back side that hook into the mirror. Sometimes you can give it a good solid tug and it comes right off. Sometimes the clips will break and if so you can just get a good epoxy and put a little on the back. If the mirror glass come off then its real easy because you can get behind it and pry the clips up.

How do you remove the mirror assembly from the doors? I am thinking of purchasing a set and dropping them off at a local body shop to get painted. I would also like to swap the lights with LED's while I'm at it. Is there a good way to take the mirrors off for the light swap?
elchupoopacabra, any luck with a group buy?

I think you just pull the mirror off to change bulbs. I'll be removing mirror assembly tomorrow and I'll get pictures of how

Decided to do it now. Pull off speaker grill starting near window.

You'll see two clips and there are two behind the flat area more in door jamb. Use a tape covered flat screwdriver for them. There are two hex headed screws one has a rubber plug covering it

Hi Deftmetal,
Thanks for the pics...look forward to hearing about the mirror and seeing those pictures.
I found the whole mirror assembly on http://fordpartsdiscountoutlet.com/ford/focus-parts/ for $150/side. The mirrors are located under Front Door/Outside mirrors/mirror assy.

The parts diagram has the cover as separate part and is orderable as a separate part too; so I'm hoping that swapping the covers from my current mirror to this new one will not be too bad.
