Mile30 -vs- Boosted Olds (Battle Thread)

A friendly competition began a year or so ago when we both enrolled in and completed our curriculum at Lincoln Technical Institute this last summer... so as car-guys you can imagine the back-and-forth trash slinging we put each other through while schooling! He's helped me work through a number of minor issues while we were in classes together, and also Focus_Family when they bought "The Russian", so he knows these cars pretty well, and has a good handle on the basics too (we were in the top of our class)!

While my ZX3 is a very adept-handling car (more so than his 20 year old bucket!); the money in his is under the sheet metal. 387whp from his boosted Quad4 Oldsmobile Calais put that car in a higher echelon than mine... but he just bought himself a used Pontiac GrandAm and plans to assemble it almost strictly to embarrass my car! So we needed a place to post up new pics and trash-talk; this place is where we're gonna lay it all out!

Let the healing begin!!!

Friendly?!?!?! Why yes, yes it is. this guy and I have spent time on the tight cornering little red hatch he holds dearly and he's spent some time getting his hands dirty in my grease pit olds. I'm very fond of the car, its my second wife so to say. He's witnessed a bright light at the end of the tunnel when I took him for rides on the twisty turny roads that lead our why's around the state we call home. Tho my car can't pull the g's his can, he needs me to park and wait for him on the highway lol.

To correct the HP output previously stated, 286whp and 262wtq @ 8psi is what I'm running with now, and will be until my 89 grand am is done. The goal behind that car is strictly competition with the little red zx3 and my daily driver. Its life will be spent with 200+bhp and 93 octane. But enough talk let's get to the cars

You two should hit up some autocross's and see how the better handling but lowered powered focus does against the more powerful but not as smooth in the twisties, olds....

^^^^^^ Definitely agree with rambleon!! that way you can have a little more then "mine went faster through the canyon then yours". you would have some real numbers other then power numbers. And if I know Autocross folks, if you where to let them know whats going on they would probably turn it into something of a show!

Keefer moved to FL after school ended, so the trash has flowed over the phone lines... he's moving back in August 2013 and the Autocrosses, drag strips, and rally runs will all be covered in graphic detail! I'm an automotive shutter bug myself, and one way or another (Christmas or otherwise), a GoPro will definitely be involved!
