Absolutely. Now you just need to decide where to put the muffler. I put mine up front where the original front muffler was. I think Redfocz put his in the rear, IIRM. It's simply about looks at that point.

I just got a flowmaster 40 installed where I had the straight pipe. It sounds subtle yet very very good. When I just took the air filter lid off again it increased the sound dramatically .
I'm going to have the front muffler/resonator cut Monday ... But I'm very happy with the 40 flowmaster -- not "rice" , just a subtle aggressive tone. |

I did lunch box waste of money. I'm going to get a cat back piping system and trying to figure out a muffler to not sound hondaish.

Diesel do you have a 2012 focus? Other cars may sound different with out the rear main muffler. The reason this works is because the 12's have two mufflers and a resonator.

I have 2 mufflers and 2 cats. 1 muffler gone and no difference except at start up. The 4 cyls sound good with just a resonator and cat.

THe only catback I've heard that sounds so good on this car. Not fart pipe sounding but low quality refined was the Magnaflow catback. There's a thread on it somewhere around here and guys were finding it around $430 or so.
This one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MAGNAFLOW-15...5bdd75&vxp=mtr

thanks for that info. I've been looking but weary of the Fart can sound. I found one cheap with a "honda style muffler" mounted where the first muffler is. I was thinking of getting that and cutting out that muffler and putting something else in.
At $430 you can have an exhaust made and put in a magnaflow muffler. I paid $300 for a full custom exhaust on my escort with muffler.

Here's the thread on it. Lots of video's and sound clips
http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=295525 Keep in mind the catback is mandrel bent 2.5in piping I believe. Not a weld in muffler. Best of luck
