The RS i5 is a Zetec in name only. It's actually a tweaked Volvo B524T2-R.

Different generations. You are talking about the MK2 while everyone else was talking about the MK1. He said '04 in the original post.

I really thought the 04 was a 5cyl as opposed to the Zetec-R. Apparently not.

Then, I'm going to agree with Tom. Why even bother? The Zetec-R was a 212HP motor WITH a snail. An SVT or a base 2.0 Zetec will hold more power for less money.

Just Build your current Zetec out properly. Port and polish, overbore and a good set of forged internals will hold so much more power...
