- 2012 SE Hatchback
- Automatic (6 speed) - 70-85 - Semi-Flat to few degree incline going home. - FSWERKS intake and exhaust Currently I drive 75 mph, but in Southern California it's more like.... drive 75, get cut off. Person who cut you off drives 45 on the freeway and gets into the fast lane at 45 mph, so you have to go from 45 back up to 75-80 and repeat. I've only owned the car for two weeks and the furthest I've driven was 35 miles all freeway to Dana Point. Average at 65-75 mph speeds, I got 33 average and TRYING, I got 37.5. Just bought 18x8.5 Fifteen52 Tarmac's that Weigh 30lb's each without tires. So I am positive my MPG will go down immensely. |

Just got back from a 380 mile trip. Speeds ~65-70, temps 40's, up and down 2 small passes ~1500 ft, 92 Octane, 0w-20 M1, 37.5 mpg. Couldn't be happier. 2013 SFE ~3,000 miles. Hope it gets better as it gets broken in.

Got 42 on my way home from work last night, 41.8 on the way home tonight. About 37 miles. Had the car about a week and just got my scan gauge calibrated properly so I've only had good numbers the last two days. 40-50 degrees at about 700ft elevation. It's not all highway though, but mostly Lol
Posted this pic in the fuelly thread too... You can see my post there too if you'd like, I posted some info on how I hypermile there ![]() Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using FF Mobile |

Maybe it's my impatience, but I'm not terribly impressed with the gas mileage. The car seems geared towards lower speeds (much lower than the 75-80 I usually do).
I get about 33mpg with 87 oct at the 75-80 assuming there's not heavy traffic. This is in not too hilly areas. Hills kill that pretty quickly. I know that if i slow down I could probably do much better but I would rather shave time than save a few pennies. The city performance is quite good though. I get damn near 30 with quite a bit of stop and go, and while I don't launch from a stop I don't shift at 2000 and take forever to get up to speed. It's scary to think this thing gets twice the gas mileage as my old '92 camaro did with the same type of driving attitude/acceleration (not when floored, but I drive the same). I've been really thinking about getting a CAI, and aside from the one post noting poorer performance I was wondering if others experienced that. |

I see you live in Easton Pa...I am back and forth from that area to nyc all the time. Today I will be driving passed easton, Taking I-78 to rt 33 to rt 209. I have had my car almost a year and have made that trip dozens of times, at 65-75mph...and my mileage is horrible. 30-33mpg max. Which is horrible in my opinion. The only time I ever got "good" mileage was driving from NY to Rhode Island...at sea level...doing 70-75mph...I got 37mpg.
