DCT in the 2013 models - big improvement?
Just bought a 2013 with DCT, after some hesitation due to all the problems reported on this board concerning the DCT in the 2012's. What made me decide to go ahead is the nearly total lack of comments on the board about problems in the 2013 models. I did, however, decide to kick in an extra $1100 for the extended warranty (something I very rarely do for any purchase), which takes me out to 6 years or 75,000 miles. The peace of mind is worth it.
First impressions - this is the best time I've had in a car since my wife and I were dating in high school (if you know what I mean). Great performance, great build, phenomenal handling. I couldn't be happier. I feel sorry for all of those who have seemed to have had such a miserable experience with their 2012 DCTs, but maybe Ford has figured it out? I sure hope so because I don't want the fun to end. |

My 2013 does not have any transmission issues. Hey you have the same one. I have a performance blue Ti + handling package sedan
It's a 8/28/12 or 24 build I forget now.

I have a 2012 SEL - 5/12 build as well and do not seem to notice any issues. I attribute the way that the transmission revs as normal. But then again, I do not know what I'd look for to determine otherwise. I always have power when I need it and think that the stop n' go in the city is just like a manual.

Stop and go in the city is a bit funky for an automatic, however if anyone has ever driven a manual or at least sat in one for a stop and go ride. It is pretty similar.
I will test the 6th at 40 and see. Are you talking about using select shift to push it into 6th or counting the shifts
