Turbo kit without electronic tuning?

So yeah, everyone is all "zomg, no tuning available for the n/a 2.0!"... Whatever happened to the old tried and true FMU and *gasp* conservative boost method. I'm sure a 5-6 pound boost from a well sized turbo would make amazing power with the compression these motors are pushing around. Hell, there were so many kits released with FMU's in the early Honda days, tuning the ECU was unheard of. I know we have a plastic manifold, but is an SDS style Extra Injector Controller that bad an idea for those who really want to burn the wick at both ends?

Alright... now who's the first guinea pig?

MAF still reads airflow, MAP can be fooled with a 1 way valve to only see 0psi or WOT, and then fine-tune the additional fuel around that.

Factory timing being on the high side can be addressed by adding high octane fuel to the standalone fuel system and/or Meth injection.

Keep em coming!

Because I don't want boost

Because an actual tuning solution is possible, just not available

Because half assed is no way to add power

Because I don't want to have to monitor this thing every second it is running

Because I don't want to be wrenching/repairing/replacing EVERY weekend

Because it is my DD

Because I don't want to have to fab every single item I add to the car

Because this would cost so much more upfront, in the middle, and in the long run

Because I like my pistons and rods right where they are, in the block

Because I never, ever, again want to be a spark plug reading guru

Because

Why not throw boost at a motor with 12:1 compression and not adjust the spark timing?
I can feel the rattle already.

Meh, add octane. Spark knock subsides.

Anyway, I wouldn't do it to this car until a tuner was available, but a fun discussion to put a little insight into...

Negative Nancy's gotta hate, I guess.

If I did do anything any time soon, I'll throw a nice 50 shot on her and see what happens at the track. Maybe I'd break 15's? lmao
