NOVEMBER RIDE OF THE MONTH(2012)

Member name: COPPERMACH
Location: Fort Collins, Colorado
Color: Mandarin Copper Metallic
Model: Sedan (Mach Edition)

Why he loves his Focus:
"It has been a fun car to modify, and I love how it has turned out. It has taken a lot of time, money, blood, sweat and tears to transform it into what it is now, and to me the result is worth it. If I had to pick my favorite thing about it I would have to say the way it handles the twisties. It is just plain fun to drive. To quote Jeremy Clarkson it "handles like it's in a cartoon."

His future plans:
"I have a complete (new/never installed) Roush Turbo kit that I plan on installing sometime in the near future. Along with the kit I have collected a lot of other parts that will be going on as well. Beyond that there are quite a few other things that I want to do, but only time will tell..."

Why he loves his Focus:
"Her and I have been through hell and back. Anyone that knows me knows what I've gone through to even get her running lol. It's been a tough transition from the F &F days but of course it's been for the better... Each time I get behind the wheel she manages to make me smile.. Idk its weird but some of you get it, when a lot of people or family can let you down and the trust is gone, but with snowflake aka her name no matter what she puts me through I never give up on her or her on me. Weird relationship lol"

JANUARY RIDE OF THE MONTH(2013)

Member name: 02FORDSVT
Location: Lowville, New York
Model: SVT (3 door)
Color: Sonic Blue

Why he loves his Focus:
"The short answer is because it's mine. I've put so much work into this car that I've become to know almost all the ins and outs of this thing along with all it's little habits, gremlins and characteristics. It's turned into my best friend in the garage and on the road as well as my little baby and an expression of who I am. I probably would have gotten as attached to any other car over time but it was that much easier to fall in love with such an excellent car as the Focus. The handling performance is great both on and off the paved road and it's as tough as nails to handle the trip into the back country. The engine performance may not be at the top of the class but the Svt still packs all the punch I need and than enough extra to put a smile on almost anyone's face. It's hard to find a car more useful than the hatch which can eat up almost anything if you pack it in right. In the end, it was almost imposable not to fall in love with this car and I hope this relationship will last for many more years and possibly even decades."

His future plans:
"My future plans are endless. I expect this car to continue it's slow evolution for as long as I own it and have no intentions of parting with this car for a very long time."

FEBRUARY RIDE OF THE MONTH(2013)

Member name: RUDEL
Location: Tampa, Florida
Model: SVT (3 door)
Color: CD Silver

Why he loves his Focus:
"There are many things I like about the Mk1 Focus. When it comes to makers though, I'm not one-sided and appreciate many brands. I bought the focus for it's looks. At the time, the head-lights were something new I've never seen before and with a 6-speed, made it a little more enticing. After several years of driving her, it dawned upon me that this car is great for all-around driving; especially on the clovers and hair-pins. Learning of the RS models deepend my appreciation for the Mk1 Focus, and thus, my plans to do my own conversion began for its aggressive RS looks."

His future plans:
"My plans for the car are getting shorter and shorter with every install that is done. Now that I am quadriplegic, I need to depend on my friends to do everything on my car. So now my plans depend on how much help I get. I have a rather short list now, but it's a lot in terms of hours needed to complete the tasks.
Driving Controls
Built Zetec Head Install
Sierra RS Hood Vents
Hood Vent Drip Pans
RS Center Console

RS Slam Panel Painted & Install
Carbon Fiber Bumper Gills Install

One could say that the list above is mainly for looks, (and it is), but ultimately I'd like to turn her into a full drag racing car, so many many more things will follow as the years go by."

Why he loves his Focus:
"I used to be a big Toyota guy. And in July of 08, I needed something newer and dependable so I went to purchase a Matrix and the Toyota dealership treated me like I wasn't good enough to purchase their car. So I went next door and bought my 04 Focus. Been a Ford guy ever since. Love this car. Eventually bought a MK3 hatch, and an 01 wagon as well."

His future plans:
"I plan to either add a nice roots blower to the 302 after its done, or sell the car to purchase the RS if it does come to the states."

APRIL RIDE OF THE MONTH(2013)

Member name: JULES17
Location: Alberta, Canada
Model: ZX5
Color: Aqua Blue

Why she loves her Focus:
"I love my focus because it's different an stands out (the 'Aqua Blue' color is fairly rare). It's a challenge to find parts for and very rewarding when I do. It's always a blast to hear, "well I thought Focus were ugly, then I saw yours" or "Is that really a focus, I thought it was a (insert a car, usually it gets mistaken for a Subaru)?"

Her future plans:
"Future plans, I have some beautiful new wheels, some slightly stretched rubber, and camber plates that should all be in and installed for the beginning of May (our spring time in Canada). Which will allow me to be flush and slightly lower. For right now that's it. No big engine mods in the plans this year."

JUNE RIDE OF THE MONTH(2013)

Member name: MATMATICIAN
Location: Mill Creek, Washington
Model: ZX4
Color:

Why he loves his Focus:
"There are a lot of reasons I enjoy my focus. Its fun, its cool, and handles like a go-kart. But what's really made love my car, is what it represents. When I wrecked my car, it was in the middle of a pretty low point in my life, and I was already going through a really rough time. Then I lost the coolest car I've ever owned. I was as upset as someone could be about losing a car. I mean, I'd owned it for almost 2 years, and had JUST gotten the wheels I'd dreamed of.

This car represents not just rebuilding the physical car, but kinda putting my life back together too. Made more friends than I have since high school over the course of building the car, and had a great group of people rallying around me (no pun intended, Rally Revolution :P) and helping me out. Michael (without whom, this never would have happened; he gave me his spare focus frame with a roll cage for a SUPER fair price), Kris, Jorgen, Chris, Alex, Norm, Justin, the other Justin, Dustin... the list goes on of just awesome folks who went WAY out of their way to help. We even had Dwane (thugology101) drive up from Portland to help! If that doesn't make you love a car, then I really don't know what will. Sure, she's a bit of an eyesore. And she'll never beat a V8. But you know what? A family built this car, and I'm DAMN proud of every bolt and screw."

His future plans:
"As far as future plans go, there's still a lot of work. The interior needs to be cleaned up and put back together. The stereo still needs to be put back in. At some point, I should probably find a windshield wiper fluid reservoir, but... racecar. I need to get the wheel spacers put on (need 3 lug nuts first) and put the fender flares on. Most obviously, it needs a paint job lol. I may end up getting a vinyl wrap if the cost is right and I can get a rally-inspired design I like. I'd like to do an SVT rear brake upgrade. The rear roof spoiler still needs to go on. I need seat belts. So... lots of little things! But, you better bet that she's gonna be a long way from where she is now come time for ROTY voting!!!"

Why he loves his Focus:
"There isn't just 1 reason I love my car, but many. I have met some of my closest friends because of this car, my father and I have grown a lot closer because of it. Overall the car is just a car, the memories that come with it are what is special. From garage days with the guys installing parts, to months with my dad doing the motor swap and detailing the car for shows. The time and memories caused by this car will never be replaced."

His future plans:
"Re-paint, it had chips from years of daily duty so I'd like to reprint it.
I want to finish the interior and probably get a tune. Nothing major planned at the moment. This car is nearly "done". Maybe I'll start a new one. Who knows where time will take us."

AUGUST RIDE OF THE MONTH(2013)

Member name: SVT1391
Location: Canton, Michigan
Color: Competition Orange
Model: SVT (3 door)

Why he loves his Focus:
"It's really hard to explain why I love my car so much. For starters, it's cheap, fun and reliable. After I sold my first fsvt, I felt like any other car I bought just wasn't as enjoyable to drive. So after searching on and off for 3 years I finally found the comp o I wanted. I've loved every single second behind the wheel and no matter what comes up or what I find I just couldn't bring myself to get rid of her."

His future plans:
"So far all I have on my list is to fix or replace my front bumper, paint and install my euro rear bumper and source the euro fender indicators. I'd really like to do a full respray when I do the bumpers but time will tell. I'd also like to change up the interior a little, maybe a tune or finally procharge it like I've wanted to from the beginning

On a side note I'd like to thank everyone who voted for me. I actually contacted chick to change my vote to focusonu2. I was skimming and misread his mileage. That car is amazing in person so a huge congrats from me to you on your car dude."
