I noticed the flare. It suppresses the chatter SOMETIMES but really takes away from the sporty feel the transmission used to have. There's no usable power during said flare.

No, there has been no new update or TSB publicly announced so 12B37 is the last one for the DCT.

True, but they did update my transmission with the 2013 software that changes the shift point in 6th gear to 40mph. Not sure what TSB number that is (or if there is one), I'll check my mail when I get back to Illinois because they mailed my invoice thing to me.

If you use selectshift on a specific gear, let off the gas, then mash on it pretty good does the RPM flare up as well?

Sometimes on the 2-3 shift, my car will slowly let the clutch out kind of like a CVT or something.

Yup (although, I think I was in drive)... I've only encountered the situation 2 or 3 times so far, but a van in front of me slammed on the brakes and when I went to hit the gas again the RPMs jumped but the car didn't move. Scared the crap out of me...

Yeah, my shifts used to appear pretty solid. Now the RPM needle kind of just floats around doing what it likes. I just ignore it.

Honestly, i know its a little unpractical and defeats the purpose of buying an automatic but i honestly just shift it like a manual! I let my foot off the gas shift then back to the gas, i notice it is much smother and as someone who has always wanted a manual its a win win for me
