If bought from a car lot it's possible they steam cleaned the carpets and (cloth) seats really well but didn't dry them so well...that'd cause that as it evaporated...

I had this problem in an old '86 Mercury Topaz that was my first car. It turned out the heater core was leaking. I lifted the floor mats to find the carpets all green underneath.

Where am I?

It happened to all my vehicles yesterday. It is also caused when the temperature changes rapidly, which is more than likely what caused this.

Yeah it happened to me yesterday as well...think it was in the low 20's when i went to work. I just blasted the defroster and heat, towel dried the remaining moisture when I got home. I noticed some condensation on the inside of rear window this morning too, forgot to dry that one yesterday.

I have had vehicles do this a little bit,but my focus is TERRIBLE for this!! There are days I have more ice on the INSIDE of the windshield then frost on the outside. I carry a little scraper for the inside, believe it or not because I am not going to sit there for 5 minutes wasting gas and time letting the defroster take it off. I know what causes it,my trunk seal is leaking somewhere when it rains and water gets on the inside of the license plate holder. I have tried to fix it several times, with no luck. So what i do now is on days like today when it isn't going to be raining outside and temps in the 40's-50's is roll the windows down a couple inches to let things dry out. this works until the next time it rains hard and leaks again.

If you park it with the climate control set on defog it will do this. The condensation is from water evaporating out of the airbox under the dash and condensing on the windshield. It usually happens if you are driving on a wet day then park on a flat or slightly incline. The water can't drain out of the box.
The easiest way to prevent this is to turn the clime control to off before shutting off the car when you are driving in the rain.
