tpms help
ok so today i ran over a screw and my tire almost went flat and the light came on for low tire pressure. I got the tire plugged and filled back with air. How do i get the light to turn off? this is my first car with the tpms so no experience with it previously.

I don't have my Focus at work to check the owner's manual, but IIRC you should be able to just start the car up again. It's been my experience that once you drive a short distance the light should go off.

Yep, the owner's manual is a wonderful resource for those who choose to use it. I went ahead and spent a few minutes to look it up for you.
2nd printing, p.247 "When inflating your tires When putting air into your tires (such as at a gas station or in your garage), the tire pressure monitoring system may not respond immediately to the air added to your tires. It may take up to two minutes of driving over 20 mph (32 km/h) for the light to turn off after you have filled your tires to the recommended inflation pressure."

So do I need to pay for TPMS maintenance, when I get my tire replaced?
I saw on the services on TireRack, at the shops, that provide this "service". |

So confused!!!
I have a 2012 titanium hatch with 18" wheels living in Quebec. Here the law is from Dec. 15- Mar. 15 you have to have winter tires. I opted for 195/65/15 so I'm buying new steel rims and tires I got from a buddy who used them for 1 season. My question is do I have to buy these tpms things? Or can I just live with the stupid warning and light on my dash? And if I do have to buy them how much will they run me? As you can see by me getting used tires I don't want to spend money if I don't have too. LOL! Any input will help thanks!

But in my previous Saturn Aura & my wife's current Chevy Cruze winter tire setup, we didn't install the TPMS's and the idiot light just stays illuminated. It doesn't bother her & I check the air pressure every couple of weeks anyhow. So it's kinda your choice here.. Spend the money or save it and check the tire pressure regularly. |

You can get them VERY cheap online, and install them yourself or get the tire shop to put them in when installing the tires on your winter rims. You do not have to have a special tool to train them either, its an easy 5 minute job in your driveway. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-FORD-LIN...5f07ee&vxp=mtr
