Unless I misread your post somehow it seems that your phone came with ICS installed. Mine came with Gingerbread and it had several problems connecting to MFT. Upgrading to CM9 (ICS) fixed those bluetooth connectivity issues with MFT. How is that not valid?

Rooting/flashing is risky business; glad it worked out for you.

Once you've updated you can't revert back without going to the dealer and you'll be hard pressed to find one that would do that for you.

Voice commands don't appear to be any more efficient.
The response to voice prompted POI locations seems slow as ever and the "choose a line" thing is still a royal PITA.
We end up hitting the actual line when the choices decide to show up.
"Showing up" is still random.
In other words the database or look-up table searches, that go on in the background, still seem clunky as ever.

Access to a ACC music loaded 32 GB USB thumb drive seems markedly snappier.

The layout of the navigation screen buttons is better IMHO.

I can confirm that the "auto" up & down functions of the driver and passenger side windows no longer works; it does however work for the back windows. What's up with that?

(I too have the S2 Blaze. Nice device although I like the 8X more. The UI is a lot nicer and things like my corporate email blend into the phone a lot more like an iPhone - certs, etc).

Good to know about the HTC. Once Sprint starts offering a wide selection of Windows phones I should be eligible for an upgrade and I'm liking what I see with the HTC 8X; hit a Microsoft Store for the first time this weekend and actually put my hands on one; very nice device indeed.

I almost went the route of the Lumia 920 recently instead of the Nexus 4, wanted to give WP8 a spin. The Nokia phones have a lot of their own apps that actually get great reviews, their navigation and maps app apparently work far better than the Bing Maps and MS's Nav app.

I think that one's just AT&T though.

That's my experience as well, which must mean the problems most must have is in the foundation of carrier based os garbage. Yet another reason to stay pure android. Anyhow, glad you're enjoying your phone.

Agreed haha, don't need to root/flash or anything, pure android already has an unlocked bootloader and everything.

Though this just goes to show that manufacturer implementation/optimization is important and does make a difference.
