interesting... I like the Light "bar" like on the Taurus, Fiesta, edge, etc..... i got a pair of Taurus one to test some retrofitting.

These have been talked about quite a bit in both this thread and others. I am personally not a fan and this seems to be the bandaid fix to not having DRLs. Instead of setting them up properly (running highbeam at ~50% power) Ford released some bolt on option.

+1. I don't think they really flow with the vehicle well, definitely look like a second-thought add-on type thing. But, then again, everyone has a different opinion.

They look pretty much the same as the ones on Mercedes. May or may not be everyone's style. They provide good visibility which is what matters most to me.

Edit - yup saw a C300 on the way into work. Same look. Similar location.

i had my technician at the dealership go in with the IDS and turn them off. We also had a technician who wanted his Focus to have them, so he turned them on with the IDS on his 2012.

It can and has been done both ways. It takes about 40 minutes to do. If a customer comes to my shop and asks me to do it, we will charge a half hour labor to do it.

Something was wrong with your car then, because this isn't how it works at all. The drls work at super low strength, no other lights in or on my car is activated save the headlight indicator on the dash. Auto headlights do work and activate the lights at full strength low beam and turn on the other running lights on the car and ambient light in the car.

Hmmm, are you sure your parking lights are not ON when you are in movement ? Because in mine, they are on ! The same goes for the red lights. And it is the same to all Canadian Focus 2012+ equiped with DRL (as far as I know). Ford really screwed up DRL in this vehicle, starting with the fact that the headlight indicator is on all the time. But yes, the Auto light works.

P.S. Tomorrow I'll go to my dealers' shop to change the front left assembly --> the plastic “melted” exactly because of the parking lights being always on (see picture). The change is covered by the warranty, though.

Yup, nothing else is on. Never noticed any lights on other focuses I've seen on the road during the day either.
