With taking the stock lunchbox and changing it to the svt lunchbox would that change the sound any?

IMO it would be cheaper to get a good muffler and have custom exhaust piping put on then go through the trouble of trying to use the svt system. unless you go from header back then there is no reason to use the svt. I run an obx header with no cat 2.25 flex and 2.25 MBRP exhaust and it sounds great to me lol

waste of time and money and I would think zero change in sound. If anything get rid of the stock lunchbox and replace it with a straight pipe.

Edit: I just read you already got rid of the muffler in the midpipe. What's your budget here? Honestly with a regular zetec, go Borla CBE. But that is what I ran on my old car so I am partial. I'm actually surprised no one has mentioned it. The Borla is pricey but sounds great, can also go the trubendz with Borla muffler for cheaper. Replacing a stock zetec CBE with an SVT one would actually make it quieter as there is an extra resonator due to the factory SVT 4-2-1 headers.

Just put this one on http://topgearstreet.com/00-04-Ford-...st-System.html my son's 2001 ZX3 and it bolted right up, sounds great and is lowest price I could find anywhere. Quality looks good with polished T-304 SS throughout. The only change I made was to cut off the 4.5" bell and replace it with a 3".

What was the pipe diameter, it looks like it's only 2" to me judging by the 4.5" inch tip?

It is 2.25" and I believe they have a 2.5" option as well.

Hmm well then that's not bad though I recommend a 2.5" exhaust. I have a magnaflow exhaust and it's supposed to be 2.25 but it's a tad under that. I suspect that all 2.25" exhausts and parts that size a shade under that measurement. I bought a Thrush glass pack to put in to quiet it down and it's was the same diameter, I ended up putting a 2.5" one in since it wouldn't restrict it any and still take the noise out. Worked out perfectly and is so much more tolerable now.
