The owners manual quotes a maximum interval of 12 months/ 10,000 miles as the maximum reccomended oil change interval from Ford, if the OLM does not indicate that the oil needed to be changed before this point this was the point at which you should change it if going by the iOLM vs the manual.

Doing what the book says or what the vehicle says is different than using a number the oil maker says you can get away with. That's all I meant

I have a ford focus 1.8 sport which iv owned for 3 months. When purchased it had "apparently" just been serviced. However was running jagged very juddery . I took it back and it was given new spark plugs and seemed fine. Two weeks later the oil light came on an I checked the dip stick to find it was dry as a bone ??! I replaced the oil and the light went off it was running fine .... Until 3-4 weeks after that I check the oil once again and it is empty :/ I don't do excessive mileage nor is it leaking the cap is clear of any sinister gunge .... What is wrong with this piece of shite please help ?

Anyone's guess because you are going on someone's "word" that it had been "serviced". Don't panic until you've done a proper oil consumption test.

It is stamped in the book as being serviced and when I got the spark plugs changed it was that very garage I used as I wanted them to clarify that it had been serviced.
I bought a 5 letter oil two weeks later and used nearly half to re fill the oil and this morning I have used the rest of that same bottle of oil to refill again.
I between I have probably done 1000 miles

Consider the possibility someone stamped a book without doing the work. Sure sounds like it's losing oil but there are types of leaks that only occur when the engine is running so it's possible the oil is leaking but you don't see a puddle under the car.

Until a pro does a proper consumption test and inspection there is no practicality in speculating how the oil is being lost.
