And those numbers are from a NA 2.0L? I'm not only impressed but thinking it's time for a re-stricter plate on the wife's chariot.

Titanium is a tad heavier than SE's so maybe its hurting it, but even if it were the case thats a bit drastic.

IMO the real reason you are only seeing 27 is how much your on the gas. If you are wafting along the highway at 70 but maintaining that speed with a consistent push on the gas, mileage will suffer. If you get into the driving habit of building speed and coasting, you will see much better figures. Dont hit the gas unless your at an incline and if you do hit the gas be easy.

Also if you are doing more than 65 you will see mileage decline. It takes much more gas to maintain 70+ mph

Milage

I'm at ~3500KM, just bought my Focus 2012 Ti in August but I'm getting pretty terrible mileage so far.

10.3L/100KM or 22.8MPG

My commute does have a lot of stop and go but this seems like very bad fuel economy to me. The little green leafs tell me that I'm driving in a reasonable manner, any advice on what I should do?

EDIT: Currently have Winter tires and it is Winter so heating system is on full blast a lot. Could this cause that much of a dip in gas mileage?

I spoke to a friend of mine who is a salesman for Ford, he was the one that sold me my current Focus. I mentioned some issues with mileage that are documented in here and I asked him if he has heard anything. He mentioned he did hear of one, and they requested 10 receipts showing the fill ups and the amount of km driven on each fill up. The mechanics will then have some data to look at, he was not aware of what the results of the fix was.

I log all my fill-ups and keep my receipts in a notebook, I have for years, ever since a repair shop put 100 or so miles on my truck for an oil change and I had no proof

I'm getting pretty much the exact same mileage. I've averaged between 9.5 and 10.5L/100 on my last 9 fills.

my driving is mostly city, i do some highway but it's for short stretches of 10kms or so. i've been blaming it on traffic and the way i drive, but maybe there's more to it than that. if i'm on hte highway at a steady 110kph and i reset the mileage meter it drops to around 5.6L/100 eventually.

funny enough, even though the meter drops to 5.6L/100 my distance to E never really changes.

but yeah my daily commute just seems to generally suck for mileage.

Well that is good to hear that at least it is a shared experience. I have not done much highway driving at all so far. I did one 250KM trip the first week I had the car and it got about 7.1L/100KM but I was going about 120KM/H which is outside of the optimal 90-100KM/H sweet spot for the car.

I think the solution to all of my problems is to move closer to work or move to a location that doesn't involve driving through downtown Edmonton...

I use the display, but I've checked it. I put all my gallons into a spreadsheet, and I check the odometer with the mileposts on the side of the road, although so far in the Focus I've really only done 1 long test over 60 miles.

I also might add that I have my tires @ 38 psi - not suggested if you live in rainy areas or are not a defensive driver. I am careful with my cars: my last car was a Dodge Neon (stick)that I bought new and have 450,000 miles on it with the original (either) rear or front brakes.

I actually use Fuelly.com, you can - it's so easy and you can actually compare your MPG's with other owners...
