Wheels and Tires for 2013 Focus Sedan

Will 17" wheels and 245/45R17 tires fit w/o rubbing on a "Plain Jane" Focus s?
I am new to this site, and do not know much about the focus. Went on Tire Rack and no problem messages came up. Anyone done this on the "13?

Ford usually makes all the cars universal (easy swaps for major parts), but I was wondering the same thing and want to ensure I get the answer when you do.

If you're using a wheel and tire combination with the same backspacing and offset as the factory wheels then you should be okay. Do you have any more details that could help someone who knows more than me with your question?

offset is 45, according to TireRack, the same. Backspacing is a new term to me, what is that?

Backspacing is the opposite of offset. It's how far the back portion of the wheel is from the cener line on the hub.

The stock size is 215/50/17, right?

If that's the case than a 245/45/17 would be fine as long as you're planning to run a wider wheel to match it. I wouldn't suggest anything narrower than a 8" wheel

Sorry, been away from the computer. When I sold my 2005 GTO I had an extra set of tires on wheels. The wheels are 45 offset and 6.05 backspacing. Currently the stripped down version of the focus has 15", 195R50X15. All my research says that the wheels and tires from the GTO will probably fit IF the bolt pattern is correct. The wheel is an aftermarket with multiple holes for different fitment. If I am lucky, they might fit, if not then I will have to decide if I will purchase new wheels. Any thoughts.

Sounds good so far, the bolt pattern is an "odd" one at 5x108, older Focus was 4x108 - also "odd".

Tire size, to see if the overall diameter is close enough is the next issue.

After a quick search the gto runs a 5x120 lug pattern not the same as the focus.

But the obvious answer if you have the focus and the old wheels the best thing to do is test fit the wheel. If it don't fit it don't fit. You can't put it on then find out the wheel is off while your driving, it just won't fit.

not quite...

off set can be positive or negative. measure from the centreline of the wheel.
ie. most FWD car wheels are negative offset, while deep dish wheels for RWD cars can be positive offset.

Backspacing is total distance from the hub face of the wheel to the lip of the wheel (ie. if you put a straight edge spanning accross the back of the wheel)

i agree a 8" wide wheel is needed.
245/45R17 might be too tall. maybe consider a 40 series. confirm with a online tire size calculator (google it).

Also, the wheel offset is going to need to be perfect, so you dont rub too bad

Also need to make sure the hub size is correct between the GTO wheels and your Focus.

As for if a 245/45R17 will fit, depending on the tire the rim width range is anythere from 7.5" to 9". The wheels we have listed on our website are all a garunteed fitment. Our techs measure vehicles with some high tech laser/cad system and take those drawings and match up what wheels will fit. To find out if another wheel will fit compering offsets and widths will help, but there's no other way then to try it and see.
