Thanks all.

It wasn't as hard as I thought is could be (it helps to have some decent equipment available) but the hardest part is to keep sanding slowly so you don't overshoot your marks and end up too small. The dust sucked too, my car has turned brown again and I just washed it Monday. lol

Made some LED license plate lights other day using my roll of white leds.

Original

The new strip. This is the smallest that they allow me to cut the strip but it's just about right for everything I've done so far.

A little cutout I had to make for the strip to pass through

New strip wired and soldered in.

Finished product

leds and center console shift bezel look good..

i always wondered with those rolls of leds, you just cut however long you need and then just add power/ground wires???

Yes.

The smallest you can cut are 3 led pieces (about 1 1/2" in length). The ones I bought are not waterproof so they don't have that plastic coating over them like some you can buy. I really don't know how those would be wired up through the plastic.

How is the wood attached to the console? I am liking the wood a lot! Maybe I shouldn't say it like that

Wood looks good. When you put a finish in it don't forget to do the back side. Don't want any pest to go after it. That's all you need.....termites in your car lol.

Thanks guys.

It would probably be an ant problem in my area. lol

I don't have it hooked in yet but it will most likely be an L-clamp style design.
