Dome lights

My wife having the same problem with her 2012 SE sedan but I don't have any issues with my 2012 SE HB.

Mine works the same way. At first I had no clue how it worked, Dealer and manual were no help, but through experimenting and reading this forum figured it out. Double click to open also unlocks all doors and turns on all dome lights. Also found if you open the Door less than a second after stealth open, the light comes on.

My car dome light never lights up if I press key fob OPEN button two times (after the car sits for several hours closed (and it is in two-stage open mode)). The procedure I described in my original post is the only way I can turn the dome light ON.

I just picked up my 2013 SE and its doing the same thing! I thought it was so strange the interior dome light had a mind of its own and only came on randomly! I am glad to see other people are having the same issue (well not really wish it wasn't an issue) but some of the tips people have mentioned I am going to try and see if it works! Some good information in this thread

Anyone got this figured out yet? Tried some of the things on the post and it still does it. I am also having another problem... When I turn the car on my doors will unlock and then the lights in the car will stay on unless I open the door or turn off the car and start it again.

2012 SE hatchback, key fob set to open all doors with 1 press. Dome lights always come on. My problem is a third of the time they do not go off when engine starts. Have to drive around at night with lights on till they decide to shut off.

Im having the same issue. I sometimes use double tap to open all doors. It happens either way. It never seemed to be a problem when I first got it; now it always happens unless it's been recently driven. Frustrating when it's pitch black out. I will have to try some of the tricks mentioned here though. Is there a way to disable the stealth setting? I can't imagine I would ever need it.

Kudos to Supernova1 for figuring this out. You'd think it could be explained in the owner's manual easily enough. I was going crazy trying to figure out when and why it turned on or not.
