how dangerous is rally x?

im 17 and really want to get in to rally cross i found a local club but my mom is worried about me breaking my car or hurting my self. rally cross looks like its a very low speed low traction sport and very skillfull it looks like so much fun! please help me i want her to know its safe and legal lol

im pretty sure rallying beats the heck outta cars lol. and crashing is dangerous , so i guess if you dont crash youll be good :D

I ice raced and did rally X once in my Eclipse and while on ice it's pretty rough but on dirt it was tenfold on the abuse your car takes. I enjoyed it but would never put a stteet car through that again unless I have a healthy bank account to fix things.

I think you are thinking of like stage rally racing. Rallyx is a much smaller course and is much like autox but in a dirt lot. While I think that the rallyx would be more harsh on your car than autox, its relatively low speed racing. you are the only one one the track at at time so "crashing" is probably pretty unlikely.

My recommendation is take your mom to an event to just watch and let her see what its all about.

I like the idea of taking your parents to watch an event, that may or may not work in your favor :D

I would rally-x my car with OEM suspension all day with no worries if I had the chance.
Lowered, it would be harsh.

it all depends on the location of the rally-x. I've been to some where it tends to get rutted and the cars start digging out rocks that could do some damage. but some of the lots are quite firm, and they would not damage anything.

look up "SCCA rally-x" on youtube. you'll get an idea of the couses.

Also, it is 100% legal and 99.99% safe.
