Official Carolina's / East Coast Caravan Thread!

Anyone in the "Southeast" or around the Carolina's, specifically North Carolina, want to meet up and caravan out there? I know myself and Focusology are planning a route out now. If you are on the route (Will be posted in the coming weeks) and want to join in on the caravan, let us know where you are and i'll make sure we add in a stop near you.

We are going to try and do the 15-16 hour drive (including stops for gas, food, bathrooms, ect.) in one long day. Leaving Thursday very early morning and getting there very late that night or rather early Friday morning.

We are going to try to run the tail of the dragon on the way into TN, so if you want to do that, make sure you meet us somewhere in the mountains of North Carolina or before. I will be leaving out of Charlotte for reference.

I will be updating this first message as we go to display all pertinent information in one location.

I know that some of us from FL will be riding up I-75 and meeting up with some of our Sonic Crew outside Louisville, KY and then rolling out from there. I think if we can get a large crew together it would be pretty sweet to all come into St Louis Together

I'm pretty sure I'll be making this FF, so count me in! I can probably meet up with you guys between Hendersonville and Asheville.

What's your route plan to get to Tail of the Dragon? I recommend taking I40 out of asheville, then taking hwy74 to hwy 28, which takes you right to the Dragon.

So we have somewhat of a route planned out. We were thinking of taking 19 to 28 then taking 28 to the tail of the dragon which we will take over to 321 then onto i75 which will take us right into lousiville, KY to meet the sonic crew!

We still don't have a place where we want to meet set in stone yet, but somewhere around ashville is I think what we are going for. Open to ideas!

Either 19 or 74 work. The big difference is hwy 74 spends a lot of time as a divided highway where you can cruise at 60-70 and hwy 19 goes through a bunch of towns so you spend a lot of time slowing down to 40 and speeding up again. As we get closer, we can decide on a location around asheville to meet up. It would probably be a good spot to pick up anyone coming up I26 from other parts of SC or East GA.

The reason I said 19 was because it looked like the most direct way to get to the Tail of the Dragon. I'll look in to 74, but we'll have to see. As the even becomes closer we will discuss the meeting location but it will be around ashville. We are going to try to do the whole trip in one shot so it'll be a LONG day. I think we will be meeting pretty early in the morning. More information will come as the time passs and the route gets set in stone.

Since you're in Burlington, I can meet you in Statesville or Mooresville it you want. Then me and you could meet everyone else in Asheville. Same thing goes for anyone else whose coming from the East Carolina area!
