actually 2013 sees a streamlining of packages and options, as well as slightly lower pricing (especially the SE with leather and navi). Leather and the 203A package are all bundled together cheaper than optioning them on a 2012. MFT/Sync package is 1495 on an SE, vs 1200+795 for MFT+Navi on the SEL's and Ti's. SE's still offer winter package, parking sensors, and blackout kits as standalone options, so you can pick and choose what you want off of a Titanium without the Titanium premium. Even an SE loaded to Titanium spec (minus backup camera and a push start/fob) is a grand cheaper than the Ti. Money saved in '13s, woohoo!

A Honda Accord with leather would be probably the best near 30k investment in a car, and even then the smart thing to do would be to get one cheaper/lightly used. and in Gray. and avoiding red meat. and all other excesses in life. Celibacy avoids unwanted pregnancy. I think a lot of us still chose the stupid/risky option LOL

Additionally The perennial Civic will certainly retain appeal and resale value far better than focii. By a show of hands (you too Rev), who would rather invest in a Civic? didn't think so! Arguing which options make or break this car is a pissing contest. Many prefer content over size, and I for one prefer a loaded Focus over an Accord. Mini Cooper anyone? There are enough idiots dumping 30 grand into those overpriced crotch boxes to the point Mini proliferated into a family of overpriced crotch boxes. None of their drivers are complaining about financial value because they didn't buy into a Mini for that reason. The crazy options on a Mini or a Focus are not only for the cheap-o's, but for people stepping down from luxury cars. Ford is just capitalizing on that trend.

I don't think so. My SEL would've been hundreds more and there still would've been things I have now that I wouln't with the '13, like dual zone HVAC (w/o spending $1500 on MFT), rain sensitive wipers (which work great on my car), Homelink garage door opener, and 1 or 2 other things.

Nope, glad I got my '12.
