And sometimes one wants to reset whilst driving. In the old days, one would simply push a button on the dash, and job done! Now I have to push and scroll and hold, and do that three times. It's a laughable approach.
in the old days your car didn't track mpg or trip time on the dash just miles. You havn't moved so 0 miles travelled so it is in sync with the time. and the mpg has what 5 seconds at 0mpg.

Thanks for your comments and feedback everyone!

I'll be sure to pass the info along to our engineering and web support teams. Another great place for sharing ideas or suggestion is Ford Social:

http://social.ford.com/your-ideas/

If anyone has any outstanding SYNC or MFT-related questions, shoot me a PM.

If you're experiencing a problem with SYNC, a Master Reset may correct the issue by erasing all stored data, call history, and previously paired phones. I've provided instructions below, but which display are you referring exactly, jeff_nc?

Just to clarify, is your system equipped with the in-dash nav system?

Thanks, Jaclyn. I do have the in-dash nav system. But the instructions on the web page you referenced don't work for me. Their step 1 is to press the AUX button. I don't have one of those. I think I have been all through the menu system, and I don't see Master Reset anywhere.

No problem, jeff_nc. I apologize, it looks like I copied the wrong link. Here are the correct instructions:

http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...c-myford-touch

Please let me know if this helps.

OK, found it! I'll wait until I have some time to spare to do this. Actually, everything has been working fine, except that the "next turn" used to show up on the information screen where the car image is, and now it doesn't. Not a big issue, just curious.

That is my policy as well.

In the old days, elapsed time was based on your wrist watch - there was no elapsed trip timer in the car. If the elapsed time is reset last, it is within a few seconds of your actual launch. That's how I did it when flying in combat.

The OP asked for suggestions. I threw mine in. Rather than just complain about those aspects I dislike, I instead posed a solution that is workable within the current hardware design.

Keep in mind that my purchase decision boiled down to a single question:
"Could I adjust to and tolerate the user-interface in return for the wonderful driving experience"
For me, the car is polarizing. I love the way it handles. Yet the user-interface is nowhere near the same level as the driving experience.

Give me a larger gear indicator for when i am in Manual mode, preferably in a different, more noticeable color. Superimposed over the "car" maybe?
