Hi HanniBill and hand-filer,

Perhaps your cars are just trying to get you in the mood for Halloween? J/K!

Swing by your dealerships so they can take a peek. Ford certified techs are you best bet for insight into these strange noises.

If you need any help from me, I'm happy to step in and assist. Just reach out to me via PM and we'll go from there.

Thanks!
Crystal

No thanks. I already know what the outcome will be. Lost time from work and the standard " we couldn't replicate the problem response"

Hey, it is possible. Of course, what you won't find out until after downloading and installing the update is that while the update may fix that particular issue it will cause the Entertainment quad and tab to permanently display the last song title that was up there prior to installing!

Mine would probably be from The Little Mermaid soundtrack or something... embarrassing....

Having the same issue! Loud noise/thumping/rumbling/vibrating

On 11/14 I came out from work after my car sat for about 6 hours, hit the unlock button and the whole car proceeded to shake/convulse and make a loud thumping noise. It went on for about a minute and I honestly thought the car would explode! (Dramatic but it tells how loud and crazy this was). I touched the door handle and could feel the car shaking. Then it stopped and I started the car and everything seemed fine.

Today (12/4) it happened again. Car sitting for a few hours, hit the unlock button and very loud crazy thumping noise. I never hit the automatic start, never turned on the car, just hit the unlock button. What is this?? The car is with the dealer now but they want to see it happen. Well, it has been about 3 weeks since it last did it so that is unlikely. Maybe the scanner will show but they say that is for engine events. Doubtful that this is an engine thing - doesn't sound like it and the car was absolutely not running.

I really hope they can figure this out. I wanted to add my voice here to show that others are having this same issue. Help!

Update

Well the dealership just called me back. They basically said: Well, we checked it out and everythings fine so you are all set. Are you kidding me? I guess because it didn't do it for them. But come on, like I made this crazy car convulsion up? I'm not sure what to do because the noise only lasts about a minute so I can bring it back in if it does it but they won't hear it. They claimed if it does it there they can diagnose it then because their scanner will show it, but then why didn't it show it when I brought the car in within an hour of it happening? I hope others post here and let me know what they did. Or get more attention to this issue so I get a better response than I got.

IMO, they should have at least updated the firmware to 3.51.

Of course that is no guarantee that it will solve your problem.

I'm confused how unlocking a car can cause it to shake.
When you say you left `work`, do you actually mean `meth-lab`?

It seems to be the MFT driver glitch buzzing the speakers at full volume after the car is unlocked, but since I don't have MFT I haven't experienced this.
