Yes it is worth it, no it isn't HARD persay. But I never installed one the process seems easy. Depends on if its the whole mount or just insert, you need a vice if you're just doing a massive upgrade. Correct me if I'm wrong but you just have to lift the engine/trans high enough to undo it get it out and put new part or unit in.

You have to pull it forward to remove it. Once you unbolt it from the engine it will rock back and forth very easily. HERE is the how to with pictures. I did the inserts with no vice. Used a screw driver and hammer to knock out the old one and was able to push in the poly mount with my hands easily enough. I highly recommend Energy Suspension mount insert or the Massive one since it's the same mount just purple due to the design being better. I actually split a Prothane mount just recently which cause me quite some headache. It's actually cheaper to get the ES mount from them directly from Energy Suspension unless you want purple then get the Massive mount.

While we're on the subject of dogbone mounts, does the "improved shifting feel" only apply to fast shifts? 97% of my shifts are slow, steady, and smooth rev-matched shifts. You know, non-hoonigan DD shifts. Is there an appreciable improvement in shifts performed in this manner? Or do the benefits of a dogbone only show up on speed shifts?

It affects all shifts. Because the engine does not move around as much, all shifts feel tighter and have less play. with my dog-bone and short shifter, it feels amazing.
