Small vent beside rear defroster button?
Hey,
Just wondering if anyone knows the purpose of the small "vent" thing thats right beside the rear defroster button (on the SE atleast.) Just wondering, saw a video online and someone was keeping their cards in there, I always thought it had an actual purpose (temperature?) or something.

Its most likely a styled blanking plate as this is the location for the active park assist switch on the higher series vehicles so equipped.

^This. Ford decided to put something functional there rather than a solid piece of plastic - you can keep a gas card or parking garage ticket in there, for example.

Just because it can be used as a card holder doesn't mean it was intended to be a card holder. The only built in card holder is in the glovebox, this was just the design studio having a tiny bit of fun in styling the blanking plate for where the APA switches would go on the high series vehicles, unless its described as a card holder in the owners guide, which is extremely unlikely.

Ok so perhaps it is meant as a card holder, it is still a place holder/ filler/ blanking plate for the higher level switch gear, or else it would be on every model.

That might be a service part number, but that's likely not the engineering part number as the base appears to be missing a digit
