That would make sense considering that the ST is a Focus (a la Golf/GTI).

Incorrect, good sir. I put a C&D magazine on the areas of my car having issues and chanted the words "10 best" while doing so. My car is now healed.

Having owned (most recently) a 2008 MB C-class, I can bolster the statement that the Focus' structure is on par with MB - actually, a couple weeks ago, I remarked to myself how it actually felt stiffer. The deep manhole dips I hit in this car are barely felt, whereas on the same stretch of road in my "old" C, I got more of a lashing. Very surprising.

Also, the passing power of this thing is pretty amazing, even at part-throttle. I suspect that's a result of the automated manual's trickery. If I didn't know better, and the salesman told me all Foci were Ecoboost, I'd probably believe it.

I've stated in another thread the bsic design of this car is phenomenal; the issue lies in the execution of the US product. I wonder if they have trans issues and build quality issues across the pond like we do?

We have found the chosen one. He is Forceflow. Please, messiah... come to my house to bless my car & make my MFT behave, and do some preventive chanting to my DCT before it gets noisy or starts lurching.

When I bought my car I also thought it was a winner. Now....I feel like I got sucker punched and made a huge mistake. Yes some people are happy with there cars, but it truly amazes me how many of us are not. Just a bunch of endless problems.

I'm glad the Focus came out on top again. I absolutely love my car.

Almost 7 months and 5000 miles later I am still impressed with my car and am glad to see it still rated at the top of it's class. I even happier I went with the 5 speed.
