A drop of oil from the dipstick (use your fingers to wipe some on outside of the DPFE port) will make those tubes slide on much easier. I broke one on my wife's van. Fortunately, in 05 the DPFE was integrated into the EGR. I assume that plan worked, and I don't know of a DPFE on following Focis.

lol I learned that the hard way, for sure. I'm going to check those hoses, because this all never really started until I changed that. I was originally trying to fix a P0401, then the snowball started rolling and here I am. Thanks for the trick!

Update number whatever it is! lol.

There was a vacuum tube with a connector right under the throttle body, I guess it goes to my EGR solenoid? I don't really know what it is...

Anyway it was sucking air. I replaced that with some 7/16" fuel line, made sure it wasn't sucking air anymore. No apparent leaks from the EGR or anything else, and no CEL's yet... Let's keep our fingers crossed!
