Thanks Crystal for your offer of help!
Today, my Ford Service Rep called and stated that their transmission expert discovered transmission fluid on the clutch and will need to replace it. They said they'll need the car in the shop for a week. |

Leak between engine and transmission
After reading this forum and remembering seeing something odd when I did the last oil change, I put the car up on ramps today and took off the aero cover under the engine to find brown fluid leaking from the seam between the engine and the bell housing. The fluid is slippery so I'm thinking it is transmission fluid.
Recently, I have had some shifts that have vibrated the steering wheel so my guess is the clutches have oil on them. I went on to the Ford Owners page and scheduled an appointment for 12/11 to have my leak looked at. TSB 11-12-13 may be in my near future. |

I'm curious as to why they had your car for 9 days. It seems that this should be a routine procedure by now for most Ford dealer service depts. |

They probably didn't have the parts in stock and I was told by my service adviser that there was only 1 transmission expert at this particular dealership.

Leak found by dealer service
Took my car into the dealer today and gave them pictures of the leak. After a couple hours I got a phone call from the dealer and they found the leak and had ordered the parts which should be in tomorrow and the repair done by the end of the day tomorrow. They are arranging for a loaner for the time it is in the shop.
I'll post again when I get it back with the details of what happened. |
