Yeah that's basically what it is. Its already been available at the dealer level for close to a month, and almost the same time here thanks to some one posting the tsb with the link to the ford server with the file.

Yeah, Jaclyn conmfirmed it for us:

Hi, everyone!

The software discussed in the article is version 3.5 and is exclusive to vehicles equipped with MyFord Touch. Most of you already have this installed, but for those that don't, the update will soon be available on SyncMyRide as a self-install.

Please note, if your vehicle's equipped with navigation, it will require the new SD card (A4) to function. You can see your dealership for this now, otherwise, starting in early January, you'll be able to order the card via www.SyncMyRide.com.

As a way of reinforcing our commitment to you, we're extending the warranty for MyFord Touch software and the SYNC module to a total of five years/unlimited mileage for 2011, 2012 and 2013 models of MyFord Touch-equipped vehicles.

I hope this new edition is the 'fix' focus owners have been waiting for. I'm one of the lucky ones.... still running v.2.11 and never had a problem... In almost 2 years it's rebooted on its own only twice and that took all of 3 minutes each time. For me, MFT works as advertised but i know others have many problems with it.

I've been loathe to upgrade as mine works properly. My sister has a '12 Ti w/ MFT and hers is v. 3.0 i believe and it works just fine, as well.

I won't upgrade my MFT till i hear A LOT of responses from those that have upgraded...

Well worth the upgrade. Mine is faster and less buggy.

Yeah, but based on your delivery date yours shipped with 3.0.2. Those of us that got our cars earlier and had 2.11 lost a lot of features/functions once the switch to 3.0.2 occurred.

Cobie, I'm thrilled with the update but only because for me 3.0.2 broke a lot of things that previously worked fine with my 2.11. This update fixed a lot of those broken things from 3.0.2. If I were in your shoes and had a working 2.11 I wouldn't switch yet. I would gladly sacrifice my 3-D view on Nav in order to get my wallpaper-only screen back, my song progress bar back, my large album art back, my non-ugly entertainment screen back, and so on and so forth.

Just wanted to add that my 5/7/12 build FF Ti HB has had no issues with MFT or DCT. I do look forward to any and all improvement, but I've been a happy customer from day one.

Streamlining some of the commands sounds great and I'll have to see if the Nav commands are easier and more intuitive -- the one issue I've had is the somewhat cumbersome way of selecting destination via voice commands...

Brian

BTW, 37.4mpg lifetime average at 12,500 miles...

@ pendarus: that's my point exactly 'less buggy' .... than what?
Mine's not buggy at all and has worked fine since day one. That's why im hesitant to upgrade. If i hear overwhelming positive reviews here on FF about 3.5 then i'll upgrade...
yes, my 2.11 may be, at times, a tad slow but it works... always....

That is likely because of what you are interfacing with MFT and how you are using it.
