i haven't have a look at a 2012 key but i would imagine you could . if you give me a pic of your current key from all angles i can check.

Transponder is still in the glass , i was very careful to keep it that way.

That what you're looking for?

The flash hides the end of the key where its squared off rather than coming to a point.

I also just realized how dirty my coffee table is. I should be ashamed.

i'd be willing to get your transponder is inside the whole thing , under the ford sticker there should be a screw and the whole thing should come apart.

ive had that key for a while now. after both of my key fobs broke where the ring attatches, i opted for this key. ive had it for a few months now. i love it. i only carry it and not a ring of keys and a fob now.

Do you know if the switchblade has its own transponder chip? If so you could just program the switchblade to make it work with the car, so long as you have two working keys already...

It does not. I took mine out and taped the chip to the inside of the steering column plastic by the pats ring around the ignition switch.

I have got the key and noticed that the blank one and the laser cut one are different sizes and on opposite sides.
I have a 2013 key same looks as the guy with the dirty coffee table. Any ideas do the locksmiths supply the right blade?

you can ask at a locksmith , but also you can just search for your year generation of focus and switchblade keyfob , probably find a few hits on ebay.
