I like to read up on these types of builds so I can learn as much as I can. for my own future build(s). I've seen in the past people using miata and ranger cranks for turbo builds on 2.3 and seeing great results.

I don't think the miata has ever had a rotary. They have always has small 4 bangers. 1.8, 2.0 and now 2.3. Pretty much mazdas all run ford engines. Except of course the RX7 & RX8.

all miata are i4. they originally came with a 1.6 then was switched to 1.8l bp in the late na models and all nb models. the nc has a duratec. the 1.8 made 130 hp and came with a forged crank from factory, its the same engine that came in escort gt. to me ford switching to the zetec was a down grade
