So was made an offer....
Currently I drive a 2012 Titanium Hatch that I am trying to get Ford Motor Company to buy back due to DCT issues out the wazzu... Well my dealership that I am getting service through approached me yesterday and offered to sell me a 2013 ST, being that it has a manual transmission I wouldn't have the troublesome DCT. Obviously I love the way my Focus drives, and more power plus a manual transmission is hard to walk away from. Where I get apprehensive is that without ford buying my car back I am going to get screwed in the trade. The vehicle they are offering me is a ST2 in the tangerine scream out the door for 25400, where they are killing me is offering me 19500 for my trade... That puts me rolling 4k in negative equity onto the ST. Heart says DO IT, my mind say wait till Ford helps by buying back my focus... Agh!!!

That deal doesn't sound too bad. It sounds pretty close to X-plan pricing. Does it have a moonroof?
As far as your Titanium..don't know what you paid, but all '12's are taking a big hit. In my area, the ST's are going for about $500 over MSRP. With the rave reviews the ST is getting, I would go for it. |

I paid sticker, I got the first focus off the truck in my area and let my heart get involved before my brain had a chance to know what was up, I was driving off the lot in my Foci

Find out what your car is worth on kbb.com and nada.com.
If they're offering you significantly more than book value, and you still want to stick with a Ford product, and you think you'd be happy with an ST, and you can afford the jump in payments, I'd probably take the offer. I want an ST, but my car's only worth 12-12,500 on trade. 1 year old, 16k miles, and it's dropped 8k in value. So, I'm stuck.

I would take the deal if you hate your current car for the problems, but otherwise love it.
The ST rocks. And being upside down on a loan is not a killer. What interest rate are they offering on the deal? If it is 3% or lower take it. If they are not offering any low percentage financing, then THAT is where to squeeze them. Tell them YES IF they give you 0% financing for 60 months If they offer anything under 3% take it.. |

On second thought wait.
You stand to gain a few thousand more if the buy back deal goes though. If you trade now you lose that possiblity. There will always be another deal to buy a car, they are not going to quit making the ST. |

I agree, now that I have had a few days to sleep on it, I am going to wait. I do love the ST but not a screaming tangerine kinda guy... Once I hear on the buy back issue I will pickup a color I like more. Thanks for the great advice peeps!

No details on your car. Mileage, trim details (besides that its a Ti), and what you owe on it.
