I was really hoping that no one would take that seriously (especially with the drummer smiley).

Someone had to take the serious approach before people started to assume that was true and to start hounding FCS about it. lol

About 1 year ago I complained repeatedly to Ford about the state of MFT and received a 5 year extended warranty to appease my extreme frustration about the systems poor functionality. This was before v 3 was released. My system had been a very crappy from the beginning. My Ti was built in May of 2011. I will say that with the 3.51 release while not perfect (it still has some quirks) is a vast improvement over the last update.

Outstanding!
My vehicle will get 5 year unlimited-mile warranty.
Except for those of us that bought the premium extended warranty primarily to cover the MFT system. Not a complete waste of money, but close.

The way I read it, the 5 year warranty being offered is for the entire car, not just mft. Which makes sense since they extended the warranty already to 5 years on mft when v3 came out.

While the autoblog author will get no awards for writing clarity, I do believe they mean to say that the MFT and MLT will now be warrantied for five yrs, not the original three years. Otherwise we Ford owners score and the Lincoln folks get a crumb.

"Vehicles with MyFord Touch will now get a five-year, unlimited-mile warranty, while the MyLincoln Touch will have a six-year, unlimited-mile warranty."

Remember this article is not authoritative in any case.

It was increased to 4 years for MFT and 5 years for MLT when v3.0.2 was released.

Ahhhh, well that solves that and kinda diminishes the offer. After all the crap most of us have been through with this system a free warranty on the entire car is the least they could do.
