Lowering
I really want to lower my car but i dont quite know how to get the look im going for with out bottoming out do i need small rims or stiff springs please help i want it be low like this

Great job, Pyroinsa. That one of the bummers 'bout zetec's= the header when you lower it that much. I suppose bags are the only way to go if you want a svt that low, w/o messing up the header.

You could go with a coil-over setup. Most people that are that low started with a standard coil-over setup, then they cut bumpstops and the helper spring (or remove it all together). You're gonna re-learn driving your car anyway, as the connection to the road feels different. TA Technix is the cheapest coil over setup you'll find for the mkI. It used to be Raceland, but those sold out quickly and Technix took it's place. That setup will allow you to run anywhere from stock height down to 4" lower than stock without cutting or modification of the pieces! You can go an inch or two lower than that by cutting those aforementioned parts; but leaving them in-place makes for a safer install and gives you slightly better regular driving behavior.
