Obviously the reason is the number of people realizing there is something seriously wrong with the factory RMM design.

How does the ms3 mount compare to the aftermarket ones? I want to order something soon but don't know if I can justify spending more than the mazda one.

JL just get the Mazdaspeed mount... Then later if you want more then add a CorkSport or other insert. The Aftermarket mounts are way too much money for what they actually are...

That's what I figured and I didn't want it to be too stiff and rattle like crazy.

The expense of aftermarket is fine as long as you only do it once. Seriously, It needs to be a 1 time upgrade. I hear people already complaining the the Mazdaspeed RMM starts to be a problem after 3-4 months. And I've read a couple of people going through several rmm.

This is not surprising after watching that cp-e rmm video.

Who has been complaining about the MS3 RMM after just a few months? And what were they complaining about? So far no one I know who'd installed it has complained at all, in fact most hardly noticed it as vibrating worse than the O.E. yet having a better feel/ response between the transmission and the body/ acceleration.

The MS3 RMM upgrade is the type of upgrade that is adaptable and upgradable... At $30-50 for inserts and taking all of 30-60minutes to swap I don't see your point. Maybe for those that have the attitude of swap and forget about it, but until you know your own duro threshold, its better to start low and work your way up. A couple people have tossed their stiffer mounts because they're too stiff...

The aftermarket mounts that aren't specifically designed for the Focus aren't worth it anyway. The only one I've seen for the focus is that custom performance one linked up there ^^. I bought a torque solutions poly mount designed for the MS3 thinking it would slip right in. Well it didn't, and it took me 2 hours modifying the mount to fit. It performs great, but If I did it over again I would just go with a stock MS3 mount and add inserts if needed. Much cheaper going that route.

Another option if you wanted something stiffer than the MS3, with factory fit, is this:

EDIT: that is, when it's off backorder.
