I just wanted to shine some light on this subject by measuring both holes; t-body and intake and this is what i got:


Intake Entry Hole Size:


Throttle Body Size:


So, the conclusion is when you have a 63mm Intake Manifold entry hole size and you install a 65, 68, 256mm throttle body on it, it wont really give you any more air into the manifold, because the manifold is still 63mm!!

Save your money and time, it's just another way for those companies to make that extra dollar.

^^^ I realized that this summer when I stuck my finger down the TB bore and felt that the intake bore was the same. Porting the intake might be risky because the gasket may not have a place to seat anymore.

The gasket seats fine when you port the intake manifold.

If this was a Honda engine, then porting or tubing would def give more power.
But i just dont see the power from modding this stock plastic forged manifold..

You want more air? Force feed it!

If this was a Honda Engine it would get more power....? So only Honda's get more power when they get more air....? The ... Phaq? You don't see how getting more air in the Plastic manifold will give increase power....... Stop trolling, there only three things that give a NA engine it power

I say the secret sauce to success is to have dimples lining the walls, from the SRI/CAI to the intake valves. .... many many dimples. ... trust me my frendz... "dimples"

relax boys, so far, Honda gets most power for intake upgrades, not Ford.

The point IS, messing with this plastic manifold will only alter it's function. If you belive that scraping off plastic from the manifold or installing a larger bore T-body will give you more power, then god bless and enjoy.

The argument of what size is what is officially closed. 63mm it is.

You are incorrect the larger engine will always get more power gains, within reason not talking about over stroking or putting a 105mm AFM Mustang TB and port matching a mani on a focus or a honda lol... But if you would have a 65mm port matching inlet and tb outlet the 2.0 engine will produce more gains then a 1.6 More air will give you more power proven by your "Force feed it!" Which is why the 2.3 dura will see more gains then the 2.0 dura with the same bolt on....

A zx3 ses/se with a Top Speed Manifold will see more number gain vs a SVT with Top Speed manifold with in the same as a civic being a zx3. You see larger number games from stock. But even as top speed states on there Manifold for NA SVT There Vs. Stock you see a 13whp/9tq gain with just the intake and a CAI. But all this is in relations reason why a SRI/CAI show no gains for us vs the stock box with a drop in filter is because the filter was reducing filtration and the TB/Inlet was restricting the Air flow. IF you where to port the inlet and larger TB you will actualy have a gain with a CAI/SRI. Granted we might be speaking in very little numbers. But it will get more air and produce more power. But I figure you know how a NA engine functions.
